Total Defence Day

Victorians commemorated Total Defence Day 2026 alongside the rest of the nation by taking part in Exercise SG Ready, with a focus on power outage preparedness. Through this experience, students gained a better understanding of how daily life can be affected when electricity is disrupted. As part of the programme, students explored how Singapore’s national power grid supports everyday needs, while recognising that outages can still occur despite its reliability. They also learned practical ways to be equipped to handle power outages anytime, anywhere — both as individuals and as a community, with many having lessons in the open. The exercise served as a meaningful reminder of the importance of readiness and resilience, empowering students to stay prepared in the face of unexpected disruptions.
